xl3.io is the documentation site for an open-source project. There are no accounts, no logins, and no forms — nothing you type is collected or sent anywhere.
What we measure
We use PostHog to see which documentation pages get read, so we know what to write more of. What is recorded depends on the choice you made in the consent notice:

Declining does not turn measurement off. It switches PostHog to a mode where your visit is counted using an identifier derived on PostHog's servers from your IP address and browser, salted with a random value that is discarded every day. Nothing that identifies you is written to your device, and the identifier cannot be traced back to you or reconnected to yesterday's.
We do not record sessions, we do not run surveys, and we never build a profile of an individual visitor. There is no advertising on this site and no third-party tracker other than PostHog — no external fonts, scripts, or CDN assets are loaded.
Files you open in the browser converter are processed entirely inside your browser. They are never uploaded.
Who processes it
PostHog acts as our data processor on PostHog Cloud EU, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Analytics data stays within the EU and is not transferred elsewhere. IP addresses are not stored.
Legal basis
If you accepted, the basis is your consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, together with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive for the cookie itself.
If you declined, the only thing kept on your device is the record of that refusal, which is strictly necessary to honour it and therefore needs no consent of its own under Article 5(3). The remaining processing is limited to aggregate audience measurement and rests on our legitimate interest in understanding which documentation is useful — Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. This clears the stored choice and brings the consent notice back:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a decline and never ask.
Hosting
The site is served by GitHub Pages. GitHub processes request logs, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse — see the GitHub Privacy Statement.
